ah, that's more like it.

Project 1 of many

I am currently in the process of making this dress. Unfortunately the image did not transfer from Illustrator to Blogger very well and the result is something very patriotic. The blue is suppose to be orange and the red is suppose to be navy. And if you think my sketch is not quite right, my comment to you (mom) is that "there are no armholes on purpose - it's just one crazy looking pattern piece. " Anyway, I don't know how long it will take me to track down the right fabric. The next time you see this dress it might be done in lime green jersey. . .

As many of you know by now I broke my foot while I was in Missouri working on a project that I can't talk about. . . Not being able to walk around was fine for a while. I admit that it is starting to get a little depressing. Hopefully I will be back at work within the next week (I never thought I would hope to get back to Macys). The other night Kyle and I went to Walmart to get some groceries. . . and I rode in the electric wheelchair. It was a very humbling experiance. Not only was the chair obviously designed for someone much larger than myself (I could barely reach the handlebars when sitting with my back to the seat) but it also makes this lovely beeping sound when you are backing up. It was a very classy trip. I only ran into fixtures about 3 times.

Garden Update

Here are some pictures of the backyard. . .

Mimosa

Perhaps one day I might break down and get a cactus. . . but not yet.
