Cheesy. I know. But cute. I'm sure lots of people want their children immortalized on a vintage baseball card like this. If you do, let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Should have. . .
I never answer the door. Never. To make matters worse, now that we no longer have dogs the alarm is always set to "stay" which means that if I door is opened that the alarm will go off. I have an intense fear of opening the door - this happened when we had bunch of ex-felons living next door, which translated into people ringing our doorbell at 5 am looking for drugs. Our house was also broken into, which makes me wary of strangers. Finally, I do not know how to say "no" to traveling sales men. . . which is part of the reason why we have an alarm system.
If you are a friend, or the UPS guy or my mail woman, I will answer the door. I've also heard that you should answer the door, so that persons looking for vacant houses to rob know that your home is not vacant.
All of this is to say that yesterday when someone knocked on the door, I did not answer. I should have though. When Kyle got home I heard him turn the alarm off and open the front door. This is what he brought me . . .

I got a good one! Thanks love!

Chicken Nuggets
Remember those books you were given in kindergarden? Picture books, they had no words, you just looked at the pictures and made up the words. I was recently inspired by this picture. I didn't even have to read the story, the picture told all, and I was never (not that I did anyway) eating at McDonalds again. The following is my solution to the nasty gloop seen above. . . still may look a little nasty at times. . . but, you know exactly what is going into it

If today was your last day. . .
A lot of people make fun of NickelBack. They think that every song sounds the same. . . and maybe they do, but I like them anyway.
Last night I was driving to church and the song, "if today were your last day" came on the radio. I started to imagine what I would do if today were my last day on earth. In the car I decided that I'd get on a plane, fly to Japan, and die with the wind in my hair and the spray of the sea on my face.
Later that night as I was trying to fall asleep, Kyle was on one side of me and Jonathan on the other, both asleep. I realized that if this were my last day, that I would want them to know that I love them. I want my family to know that I love them. I realized that if today were my last day, that I would want to spend it holding Jonathan, feeding him, playing with him, kissing him and feeling bad about leaving him alone for an hour while he sleeps.
I guess this means that I live everyday like it is my last - since that is all that I ever do. It is so easy to look at the mountain of things that you would like to accomplish in a day and lose sight of what is really important.
